7 YouTube Coffee Channels You Should Be Watching
YouTube is a free source of information for about nearly anything. Especially for coffee brewing!
But with most free content, you do have to be discerning. So I'm listing the channels I have enjoyed and benefitted from through their informative, educational, and entertaining content.
In alphabetical order:
Artisti Coffee Roasters
Main focus: Espresso
These Australian-based coffee roasters share everything from cafe espresso bar setup, practical barista tips, product overviews, and even fly-on-the-wall videos during a cafe shift.
At first glance, this seems suited to the coffee professional demographic. Still, home brewers can learn much from seasoned professionals who have been in the trenches staying dedicated to good coffee.

Main Focus: Specialty Coffee, Brewing
This channel has some absolute gems, from visiting cafes and roasters across Europe to brewing tips and techniques. In addition, they serve up an enticing mix of content that expands your coffee horizons.
I enjoy their exploration of cafes across Europe, sharing visionary ideas and innovative approaches to serving up this dark brew. Still, their guides, tutorials, how-tos, and coffee explainer videos have great information for those starting or looking to fill some gaps in their brewing processes.

James Hoffman
Main Focus: All things coffee
Every list of top YouTube coffee channels will include James Hoffman, and there are many good reasons for that.
He is articulate and charismatic while delivering excellent video content. His videos span the spectrum from quirky to informative, often providing a masterclass on how to think about coffee, the implements of coffee brewing, and the complexities of coffee as a brewer and consumer.
James is a former World Barista Champion and a coffee roaster, making him an overqualified and trustworthy guide for your brewing journey.
Lance Hedrick
Main Focus: Espresso, Latte art, Coffee in general
Lance is a winner of multiple barista and latte art titles. In addition, he has coached other barista competitors and worked in the coffee industry in various roles.
Lance tries to bridge the gap for home brewers by sharing the knowledge he's gained from his professional work. He provides clear explanations and how-to guides in a way that leaves you confident in your new understanding.
I've followed Lance's steaming milk and latte art tutorials and found some success with my latte art at home. Being able to teach something, so complex from YouTube speaks to his capabilities as a coffee educator.
Morgan Eckroth
Main Focus: Barista life, Brewing, Espresso, and Barista Champs
Morgan is an accomplished Barista. She shares entertaining snippets of her day at the cafe where she works, along with practical brewing lessons and tips from her home.
She took her viewers on an exciting journey that found her becoming the United States Barista Champion in 2022. She shared aspects of preparation and training, her approach to developing the competition script, selecting the milk, and even a video reviewing what happened at the competition.
Morgan continues to make relatable and informative YouTube videos covering brewing, equipment, and sometimes crazy experiments.

Another Australian roaster is on the list, but its content is worth following. The team at Seven Miles Coffee explores coffee in a way that mirrors my exploration and experimentation at a beginner level.
They've packaged their content into playlists that cover espresso fundamentals and extraction, milk steaming and coffee art, recipes, skills, and a great playlist related to coffee science.
What I like about their videos is that they identify a specific problem and then provide the details to solve it if it is relevant to you.
